Released by Aimpoint AB of Malmö Sweden in 1975 the Aimpoint Electronic was the first commerically succesful red dot sight utilizing a LED to generate its dot. During its production run from 1975 till 1986 the Aimpoint Electronic was released in three variants. The first two variants were labled simply the Aimpoint Electronic and are recognized by using external adjustment knobs which move the sight in relation to its mount, the final variant sold under the name Aimpoint Electronic Mark III is easy identifiable by it use of internal adjustment knobs.
